[Review] Miso – Metanoia

Miso is back with her new EP ‘Metanoia’. The word metanoia means a transformative change of heart, specifically in terms of spirituality. Let’s dive right in because she never disappoints.

Metanoia

We start with the track ‘Runaway (Intro)’. This is a beautiful opening that meanders kind of like the fish in her album cover. The guitar riff in the background is a bit jarring but at the same time it adds this tension that is absolutely immaculate. This intro clocks in at one minute and thirty seconds and I kind of wish it was a full track.

After that we get the title track ‘Let it go’ which came with a visualizer. The bass, played by Choi Minyoung is so dope. It makes it very bluesy. This is such an easy-listening track that it’s definitely joining my Spotify playlist.

Next up is the track ‘Evermore‘, not to be confused with Taylor Swift’s ‘Evermore’. The vocal layering in this single is so hella smooth. I got actual chills listening to it for the first time. This is so utterly lovely.

The last single on this release is ‘Mild Escape’. Miso has some really dreamy vocals in this one. I like the synergy between her high vocals and her low register. It’s so cool. It has a very abrupt ending though, which I wish was a bit smoother.

You can listen to ‘Metanoia’ by Miso on Spotify here. Miso wrote and produced all of the tracks on this release. So stan talent y’all. If you want to read about Miso and Dean’s collab, you can click here.
