[Review] LOONA – [12:00]

LOONA is back with their new album ‘[12:00]’. We are hella excited so let’s dive straight in!

[12:00]

We start off with the intro ‘12:00’ which clocks in a bit over a minute and sounds like a spaceship launching off into the hemisphere. It’s a really cool way to open the album.

After that we get the title track ‘Why Not?’. This title track is everything!! I love the vocals and the catchy samples. The bridge is to die for and the music video is absolutely stunning! That black and white scene is going to live in my head rent free.

Next up is ‘Voice’. The retro disco funk vibes are *chef’s kiss*. This is such a smooth listen and is going straight into my fav playlist.

We’re already on track number four with ‘Fall Again’ which is an R&B pop ballad. The synths in this one are super lovely and I’m here for it. The harmonization is absolutely amazing. I’m in awe of their vocals.

‘Universe’ is up next. This is so, so soft. The instrumentals feel very dreamy and very warm. Heejin’s timbre fits this so well.

Next up is the single ‘Hide & Seek’ and we bring the tempo back up. The samples are kinda crazy, but I am 100% here for it. The way this was mixed and layered is hella dope and what a fantastic party track.

Track number eight is ‘OOPS!’ and what an intense opening with the heavy bass. The rap section was utter FIRE!! Honestly, 10/10.

The last track is the English version of ‘Voice’

Overall the album ‘[12:00]’ by LOONA is magnificent! The diversity is insane and I love their experimental side.

Go ahead and listen to the album on Spotify here.
