EP Review: LOONA – [#]

LOONA just dropped their EP ‘[#]’ and after listening to it, I have to say that these girls get better and better with every single comeback. They are queens of duality who can pull off any concept.

Let’s dive right in!

LOONA starts off the EP with ‘[#]’, and this track is entirely electronic with no vocals at all. It is the perfect intro to set the mood of this entire release.

So What’ is up next with strong vocals, beat and rhythm. This one is the title track for this release, and after listening to it and watching the MV I just have to say that LOONA never ceases to surprise me. This concept of strong, empowered, feminine and just badass women is amazing. WE STAN. Check it out.

Third in this EP is ‘Number 1’ with powerful vocals and a soft concept that mixes pop and ballad style. I really want to watch a live performance for this song in particular because I’m sure they will kill it with their stage presence and vocals.

Oh (Yes I Am)’ is next and this track is an absolute bop! I can totally see myself dancing to it on the dance floor. Its rhythm and style is perfect for it, and the rapping in this song is super cool.

Following the breazy ‘Oh (Yes I Am) is, ‘Ding Ding Dong’ with a soft bubblegum pop style that is completely different from the previous songs. It is a refreshing and fun change in this EP. I can totally picture the members dancing to this song with pastel color outfits, looking fierce and adorable at the same time.

365’ closes this release and it’s beautiful. LOONA released this one last december for their Orbits and the lyrics are absolutely heartwarming. The music video is super cute and soft, so make sure to check it out.

I started stanning LOONA after ‘Butterfly’ and I’m sad I didn’t know about this group before. They are super talented and their music is super diverse. I can’t wait to see what is next for them. Meanwhile, listen to this release below.
