[Review] (G)I-DLE – HEAT

The girls from (G)I-DLE are back with their new English mini-album ‘HEAT’. Let’s dive right into the new music!

HEAT

We start off with ‘I DO’ which was released in July.

Then comes the new title track ‘I Want That‘. This goes absolutely hard! I’m obsessed with the dark beats and the catchy chorus.

The girls are Acting (capital A intended). Actor Park Jung-min plays the toxic boyfriend, read more about him here.

‘Eyes Roll’ follows that with an insane rap verse by Soyeon. The synths go wild and I literally can’t wait for future remixes. This is such a banger.

The intro to ‘Flip It’ is crazy! Minnie goes full vocal power. However, I do think it gets a bit repetitive after a while.

The closing track is ‘Tall Trees’. This is the only softer track of the mini. This soft pop still has a bit of groove to it and has some interesting vocal layering during the bridge.

Overall ‘HEAT’ by (G)I-DLE is a fun listen, but I think it’s kind of a shame that Soyeon or Minnie don’t have any writing credits on this mini.
