[Review] DRIPPIN – [Boyager]

The boys from DRIPPIN made their official debut today with their first mini-album ‘[Boyager]’. This seven member group under Woollim Entertainment is starting their new journey, so let’s dive right in!

[Boyager]

We start off with the track ‘Boyager’. This intro just over a minute sounds very angelic meets synth pop. It’s a really fun mix and sets the tone well for the title track.

‘Nostalgia’, the title track is a dance pop song with some really funky guitar riffing in the back. It’s a really cool song to debut with. The music video is really cute and I really need to see the full choreography because that looks very interesting.

Next up is ‘Overdrive’ and I like this one a lot. I like the funky catchiness of it all. It’s a happy song with some cute samples and a rap verse that had me do a double take.

We’re on track four with ‘Shine’. This poppy R&B vibe sounds so good! It has a quirkiness to it that is utterly adorable. The whistle is such a cute addition. This song has my heart. When the choir came in, I was 110% sold, guess I’ll be stanning.

After that we get the track ‘Colors’. This soft House song is quite lovely with some fantastic vocals and some really cool ad-libs.

‘[Boyager]’ by DRIPPIN closes off with their last track ‘Light’ that gives some much needed time to the rapline. This sound made me feel so hopeful. If you need some courage, listen to ‘Light’.

I’m thoroughly impressed by DRIPPIN and their debut mini-album. I’m very curious to see where they go in the future. Go ahead and listen to their debut on Spotify here.
