[Review] DKB – GROWTH

Brave Entertainment 2020 rookies DKB are back with their third mini-album titled ‘GROWTH’. They definitely have had a busy year and we are loving the music they have been putting out. Let’s dig into this release.

GROWTH

The title track ‘Work Hard’ starts this mini-album and this time DKB’s title track went for a softer and more pop vibe. The track is smooth and the vocals are fantastic. The music video for the song is colourful and has aesthetically pleasing sets.

Old school hip-hop beats introduce ‘Tell Me Tell Me’ and go back and forth mixed with EDM throughout the full song. The rapline killed it in this song, I really liked their delivery and rapping style.

A piano intro mixed with stunning vocalisation begins ‘Take Care’, co-written by GK and E-Chan. This track has a melancholic feel in its delivery and instrumentals, it is absolutely stunning and I loved the layering and mixing of music.

R&B takes over in ‘Eraser’ and what a smooth track. DKB is a rookie group full of surprises and I am loving how experimental they are getting with their music. D1, Teo and E-Chan co-wrote and also took part in the composition of this track. Multitalent in the house!

Last in this mini album is ‘No more’, a few of the members took part in the composition and lyrics of this track. This song has a certain emotional vibe that I found interesting. Their delivery of lyrics felt as if they were telling a story full of frustration and anger and this song was the way to release those feelings. What is amusing is how they conveyed those feelings in one song. Legends.

DKB is putting out great music, keep an eye on them, these rookies will have a bright future. Listen to this release here.
