[Review] B.I – COSMOS

B.I is back with his new EP ‘COSMOS’ and we are thrilled. His solo debut album ‘WATERFALL‘ left us in awe with the music and its aesthetically stunning concept. Hanbin’s had a busy year gifting fans with the music we were all looking forward to.

COSMOS‘ is the title of this half-album and includes in its digital version six tracks and in the physical version seven. The sneak peeks for this release looked super cool and we are not sure what to expect, so, let’s get to it and listen to this release.

COSMOS

Piano orchestration begins this journey in ‘Alive‘, to then smoothly transition to lo-fi hip-hop beats. B.I goes off with his verse delivery and makes this song a full vibe. The layering and instrumentation in this track is fantastic and I really like the way he carried this track with his rapping.

NINETEEN‘ comes along with an awesome electric guitar riff and it evolves into hybrid track with hip-hop and rock instrumentation. This song had me jamming to it with the vocals and rapping. It’s well-balanced. I had so much fun listening to it.

We go onto the title track ‘COSMOS‘ by B.I with a pop/rock rhythm and a dreamy feel I liked a lot. Hanbin’s vocals as always delivered and had me smiling throughout this full song. This title track really feels like a comfort song, a tight hug in moments of need and I loved it.

The music video

The music video takes viewers to a dreamland just like the song. This production thrives in the simplicity of life and sees moments as unique opportunities. I loved how they played between dreams and reality. It was absolutely stunning to watch. Hanbin was the executive producer of this MV (is there anything he cannot do). Watch it below.

Second half

Featuring Colde, we get the single ‘NERD‘. This duo is already a super power and this song is everything we expect from these two incredible artists. The track includes very trendy beats with an awesome flow. It just gets better with B.I’s rapping and Colde’s singing, definitely a marvellous combo.

We go back to lo-fi beats and a rather alternative style with ‘Lover‘. This track is a smooth listen and its outro is out of this world, the way the beats are changed is just cool. I didn’t expect it but it’s SO GOOD.

Last on its digital version is ‘Flame‘. This single is very impressive, starting from the intro. The layering and mixing in this track are cool, refreshing and new. Hanbin’s rapping as usual was fantastic. I really liked how they executed the song. One of a kind and awesome.

B.I did it once again! He released a solid album. This release was packed with super well-produced music and a lot of style. It’s definitely a non-skip. Make sure to listen to ‘COSMOS by B.I here.
