[R&B Gem] Hoody

We’re back with a new R&B Gem and this time we’re writing all about the lovely Hoody and her discography. Let’s dive right in!

Debut

Hoody is a Korean singer-songwriter who debuted in 2013 with the female hip-hop crew Amourette, KittiB is also in that crew. She also released her first single ‘My Ride’

Her first comeback was a year later with ‘Baby Oh Baby’.

‘Blue Horizon’ is the first official release of the team Cokejazz & Hoody. The track has a lot more synths to it than other Hoody releases, but it’s a cool listen.

Her next comeback ‘Let em Know’ brings us back to her original style.

In 2015, Hoody signed with AOMG and subsequently released the EP ‘On and On’

2017 gave us the two singles ‘Hangang’ and ‘Can’t Wait’.

The year after, Hoody collabed with both Crush, George and Jay Park. Her single ‘Why’ featuring George is one of my favorite releases by her.

Her first full-length album ‘Departure’ came out in 2019 and has some amazing songs on it. I remember being absolutely obsessed with the title track ‘Adios’ when it first came out. The cameos in the video are hilarious and the song itself is super chill and catchy.

The year after Hoody released two singles; ‘ORE ORE’ and ‘Submarine’.

Collabs

Hoody has countless collaborations with notable artists in the Korean hip-hop scene. It’d make for a very lengthy article to share them all, so I’m just listing my personal favorites.

I hope you discovered some new music by the wonderful Hoody. She has some amazingly soft vocals and I love the fact that she writes and composes most of her own music. This year she’s only released an OST for the show ‘Live On’, so I’m hoping that she releases some more music.

Go ahead and check out her Instagram here and listen to her music on Spotify here.
