Mnet’s new show ‘Good Girl’ is bringing some incredible artists who needed more recognition in the spotlight, amongst some of my favourite female rappers. So, for today’s feature we are talking about one of the participants. This week’s Rapper In The Spotlight is all about the very beautiful and talented Yunhway.
Independent Beginnings
Yang Yoon-hwa (a.k.a. Yunhway) debuted independently in 2015 with the single ‘Fatal Love’, this song is a golden gem that needs way more attention, 20 y/o Yunhway killed it in this single with her smooth vocals. Check out the single below.
In 2016, she released the collaborative project ‘2226’ along with the back then independent producer sAewoo. This EP had 13 songs with a very raw and unique sound. The most well-known track of this release is ‘Bambada’, however there are some gems that need to be listened to. My personal favourite ‘Greeting’ feat. myunDo.

Wedaplugg Records
Yunhway signed under the new established agency Wedaplugg Record run by Lil Cherry and Jito Mo. Her next single ‘Liquor’ was released in 2018, with a lazy rapping style and killer flow, this song is sorely underappreciated. The music video is a total trip, check it out below.
Her next single ‘Find A New Lover’ was released in the same year, and became one of her most well known songs. The beat and flow of this track are super cool and go extremely well with her signature rapping style and vibe.
‘Long Long Time!’ followed this release, and was co-produced, written, arranged and mixed and mastered by Yunhway. You can listen to the official audio below.
In the same year the collaborative album ‘Yunhway vs Lil Cherry’ with Lil Cherry was released. This mini album has a more experimental sound in comparison to her previous releases, nevertheless it’s a really cool release that shows a different side of Yunhway.
At the beginning of 2019 she dropped the single ‘Silhouette’, this track was a smooth mix of lo-fi hip-hop and her singing voice. This song is one of my favourites from her discography. Check it down below.
Show Me The Money 8
Yunhway was one of the contestants in ‘Show Me The Money 8’, she was eliminated in the ninth round, however she left some incredible stages to remember. One of the coolest ones was the diss battle against Punchnello. Here is a clip of the full performance.
Later in the same year, she released her first mini-album ‘Instant’. With seven tracks this release is incredible from start to end. Yunhway goes off in this EP showing the best of her vocals and rapping. ‘Instant’ is super diverse, smooth and has an incredible composition and flow. Check it below.

Yunhway is currently a contestant in ‘Good Girl’, in the latest episode she performed a mix of the single ‘Polaroid’ and ‘WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT ME’ from her mini-album. Her stage presence is no joke and her live vocals are perfection.
