[Review] Moon Jong Up – US

Former B.A.P. member Moon Jong Up is back with his first mini-album ‘US’. Let’s dive right in because I have very high expectations.

US

We start off with ‘Photo’ featuring his former B.A.P. co-member Bang Yong Guk. This is soft R&B with fantastic vocals and Yong Guk’s rap verse creates a very fun dichotomy between the high vocals and low as hell rap voice. It’s smooth.

Next up is the pre-released ‘Find’ featuring Moon Sujin. There’s an absolutely stunning piano line in this one. The mixing and layering feels very soft and smooth with rounded edges. Everything feels really well balanced and Moon Sujin’s feature is heaven.

After that we get the title track ‘US’. We’re going groovy and sexy! It’s way more upbeat than the previous ones and feels like a great pick for the title track. It’s catchy as hell and Jong Up displays some fab dancing skills.

We follow that with ‘GOUP’ featuring rapper EK who was on ‘Show Me The Money’. It’s a fast paced Dance and Hip-Hop track. It’s fun and the feature was straight up fire.

The last track on the mini is the single ‘HEADACHE’ featuring YUNHWAY which we wrote about here.

Overall, ‘US’ by Moon Jong Up is a very solid mini-album with a lot of great singles. It feels very cohesive while still displaying his various strengths. You can find the mini on Spotify here.
