Ode To The Artist: JAMIE

We’re back with a new Ode To The Artist and this week we’re writing about JAMIE. This singer has an incredible voice and has been in the industry since she was 14. Let’s take a closer look!

Debut

JAMIE, also formerly known as Jimin Park, was the winner of the first ever ‘K-pop Star’ in 2011 when she was just 14. She signed with JYP Entertainment and together with Yerin Baek she was part of the duo 15&. They debuted in 2012.

From 2014 she started co-hosting the series ‘After School Club’ and has been the longest co-host.

Her first solo single came out in 2015. Her single ‘Hopeless Love’ still is an amazing track and that chorus is just so cathartic to sing along to.

Our brilliant vocalist also does a bit of rapping. In the summer of 2015, she was part of the project group M.O.L.A together with Seung-yoon of UNIQ (now known as Woodz) and rapper Nathan.

They released the two singles ‘My Way’ and ‘Trick or Treat’.

In 2016 JAMIE released her first solo EP ‘19 to 20’ with the title track ‘Try’. She was very involved in the composition of the EP.

That also goes for her second EP ‘Jiminxjamie’ that came out in 2019. She participated in the composition of the majority of the tracks. I was obsessed with this EP when it first came out. ‘April Fools’ is still a vibe.

In 2019, JAMIE left JYP Entertainment and signed a contract with Warner Music Korea.

Her first comeback under the new label was ‘Numbers’ featuring rapper Changmo.

In 2020 she had two more comebacks. There was the feature with Jay Park and the Christmas single ‘5 Christmas Languages’.

Her most recent singles are ‘No Numbers’ featuring Jmin and the 2022 track ‘PITY PARTY’.

JAMIE has an incredible voice and others have noticed that too. She has a bunch of OSTs and quite a few features. Here’s a few of my favorites.
