MV Recommendation: Park Hyo Shin – The Other Day

We’re back with another music video recommendation.

Just a quick warning, we’re about the enter sad hours here.

Park Hyo Shin, who is an incredible singer, takes the backseat for the music video.

The MV, directed by Kim Jong Kwan tells the story of a ‘magical’ phone-booth where the actors who are going through a rough patch, go to hide from the world a little bit.

This song is meant to be like that phone-booth, where you can derive comfort from his song.

You can see the actors all feeling downtrodden, walk down the street. It’s night time, it’s rainy. They’re struggling, with what we don’t know. That’s up to our imagination. They come to the phone-booth to find shelter. It is so beautifully shot. Everytime I watch it, I’m absorbed, even though I’ve seen it countless times.

At the end, when the song picks up a little bit, you can see different coloured lights shining on the actress’s face. It is a stunning shot that I can’t get enough of. I kind of want it tattooed on my eyeballs.

There’s only one shot of Park Hyo Shin. It’s when he hangs up the phone, signifying that maybe he’s feeling a little bit better.

Honestly, this video and this song feel so honest and raw. I’d love it if you would give it a try.
