In this week’s label deep dive we want to talk about a small agency with pretty big artists. Let’s talk about KOZ Entertainment.
Beginnings
KOZ Entertainment was founded in 2019 by Zico, who decided at the time to go independent. The first release dropped under this agency was the extended play ‘THINKING Part.1’.
The second part of this EP, was released later on that year, with the single ‘Being Left’ as the title track.
KOZ Entertainment second artist joined in 2019, the same year it was founded. Dvwn, started off a brand new era of his career with the single album ‘Dawn Defibrillation, Vol.1’.
The hip-hop project group FANXY CHILD, debuted this same year under this agency. Including Zico, Crush, Penomeco, Stay Tuned, DEAN and Millic, their debut single ‘Y’, became a total hit among hip-hop fans worldwide.
HYBE Acquisition
After a very successful first year in the industry, KOZ Entertainment was acquired by HYBE LABEL (known as BigHit Entertainment), a corporation founded by music producer Bang Si-hyuk, in 2020.
This same year Zico and Dvwn, the only two artists at that moment released several singles, including Zico’s viral song ‘Any Song’.
KOZ Entertainment latest debut is their first idol group BOYNEXTDOOR, they debuted in May 2023, with the single album ‘Who!’.
