[Review] &TEAM – Back to Life

After three years since their official debut in Japan, &TEAM is finally debuting in South Korea with their 1st Korean EP ‘Back to Life’. This release promises to showcase a new side of the group, filled with genre variety, musical depth, and the undeniable charisma and talent they are known for.

We’re absolutely hyped, let’s dive in!

Back to Life

The title song ‘Back to Life’ opens the EP with a powerful pop-rock feel and an incredible flow. The vocals and rapping are on another level, sharp, energetic, and emotional. The high notes, falsettos, and rap sections blend perfectly to create a dynamic and striking title track.

Starting off with an unexpected guitar riff, ‘Lunatic’ brings a funky and groovy sound that instantly stands out. The 90s-inspired vibe mixed with modern flair makes this track a total jam, packed with slick ad-libs and an irresistible rhythm.

We move into smooth R&B territory with ‘MISMATCH’. This song commits fully to the 90s aesthetic, featuring intricate sectioning and a sophisticated arrangement. Every element, from the vocal transitions to the harmonies, hits just right, making it a captivating listen for those who love clever composition.

Next up is ‘Rush’, a bright and polished dance-pop track. The smooth transitions, crisp beats, and catchy chorus make it an instant earworm. The EDM production adds a vibrant, summery feel that feels effortless and clean.

In a surprising twist, ‘Heartbreak Time Machine’ slows things down with a beautiful rock ballad. The vocals shine with emotional depth and passion, contrasting between soft verses and a powerful hook. It’s stunning, heartfelt, and a total standout moment.

Closing the EP is ‘Who am I’, a soft pop ballad filled with lush harmonies and delicate layering. The track’s gentle flow and touching emotion make it the perfect ending to a well-rounded and heartfelt release.

&TEAM absolutely delivered with ‘Back to Life’. This EP is a total no-skip, rich in musical variety, emotion, and stellar performances. Their Korean debut showcases their artistry and solidifies them as one of the most versatile groups of their generation. Make sure to check it out here!
