Korean indie gems on Bandcamp

Recently I’ve begun exploring the Korean indie world on bandcamp because I wanted to see if I could get cool merch there. I found a couple of really cool vinyls and albums, so let me share them with you.

Say Sue Me

The Korean indie band Say Sue Me has quite an expansive merch collection on Bandcamp. I’m obsessed with their coloured vinyls and their very cute ‘Peanutized’ T-shirt. Sadly the latter is sold out.

Mid Air Thief

The singer Mid Air Thief also has a page on Bandcamp. If you really want to go back in time, you can buy this very aesthetically pleasing cassette of his 2015 folk album ‘Gongjoong Doduk’. This album is absolutely brilliant, go listen to it on Spotify here. There was also a vinyl version of this album but unfortunately that is also sold out.

The Orchard

The little cassettes seem quite popular on the site. The Orchard has his album ‘DFMO’ from 2019 on offer too.

Bosudong Cooler

If you want to take the unusual approach, you could buy this official Bosudong Cooler mug. It looks super cute! You can also buy their actual album ‘Sand’.

There is one page that has a lot of cool tapes on it. The SSE Project is definitely one to follow if you’d like to explore other K-Indie artists as well. There are items for artists like Eundohee, Sunwashere, Cacophony and more.

I think Bandcamp, while still relatively small in the K-indie community, might be a very intriguing platform to grow on. I’m curious to see if a lot of artists will jump on the bandwagon. While I’m still exploring the site, I’ll keep you posted in case I find more cool albums.
