KINGDOM: Legendary War – Episode 7 Recap

We are back with a brand new recap of ‘KINGDOM: Legendary War’ episode 7. This week’s concept is ‘No Limit’, and the groups will be split into two groups of three. They will have a performance line, hip-hop line and vocal line.

From last week we got to know that the first group includes Stray Kids, BTOB and ATEEZ; and the second group consists of SF9, iKON and The Boyz.

For this week’s episode, MNET invited a panel of professionals that included Super Junior’s Donghae and Shindong, well-known choreographer Lia Kim, producer Shinsadong Tiger MonoTree producers Hwang Hyun, G-High and Lee Joo-Hyung.

There were also rookies in the panel from groups like BDC, Weeekly, Tri.be and Mirae.

Rap Units

iKON – SF9 – The Boyz

We started off the third round with Sun-woo, Hwi Young and Bobby discussing their ideas for the rap unit performance. They had such a cute interaction with a lot of fanboying over Bobby.

Things got started with Bobby producing the track for this performance, and all of them meeting up at the YG headquarters to record the track.

‘Full DaSH’ is the title of the track for this unit. Sun-woo, Bobby and Hwi Young, killed it with a free spirited performance. It went off with some incredible and fast verse delivery and an amazing flow. Sun-woo’s part really surprised us, this team had an unreal connection and it showed in this performance.

Though confusing at the start, we liked how they played with the black and white filter at certain times. It made the colours at the end really pop out. Also Bobby’s hair, hella iconic.

BTOB – ATEEZ – Stray Kids

3racha along with BTOB’s Minhyuk and ATEEZ’s HongJoong are next in the rap units. Fans get to watch the little interactions and preparation for their performance.

‘메이플라이’ is the title of this performance. 3racha and HongJoong started off this performance and we got some killer verses and awesome flow from them. The concept for this performance was very creative and super cool. They really played well with the stage and offered a fantastic stage.

The track itself had a very underground Hip-Hop feel with some well played beats and interesting silence in between. The sound between the verses was awesome.

Minhyuk’s part added a bit more drama into this performance. Overall it was super interesting to watch. There was a lot happening visually.

The results

For this first round, we got the panel result right after the second Hip-Hop unit performance. BTOB, Stray Kids and ATEEZ got the win for this round.

Performance Units

iKON – SF9 – The Boyz

DK (iKON), Suyoung (The Boyz) and Taeyang (SF9) were the chosen members for the performance unit.

This stage had a Joseon theme with beautiful outfits that exuded prince vibes. ‘왕과 비’ is the title for this performance, and it starts with the three of them doing a very synchronised and beautiful choreography with sharp and soulful movements.

The performance continues and this time we get a storyline including the assassination of a princess, and DK, Suyoung and Taeyang falling into intense despair.

SF9’s Taeyang takes the stage with a dramatic and stunning choreography including swords. Suyoung from The Boyz follows with a bar setting, where he does a very cool table flip with one foot.

DK is last with a very intense dance break, his facial gestures are crazy in this part. The instrumentation for this piece is beautiful. The bridge brings them together on the stage where they once again reunite under the cherry blossoms.

BTOB- ATEEZ – Stray Kids

The next team is up and we have Peniel from BTOB, Wooyoung, San, Seong Hwa, Yeo-sang and Yun-ho from ATEEZ, and Lee Know, Felix and I.N. from Stay Kids.

Panther eyes open this stage. The members are performing EXO’s ‘Wolf’, for this performance they all show some incredible dancing skills and amazing stunts. Stray Kids’ Felix had to jump on top of ATEEZ’s Wooyoung. Peniel’s dance break and him walking out of the gates with men on leashes was awesome. All the members were sharp and on point and there were no gaps between the constant intensity. It was really well done and our eyes were glued to the screen.

Scores from rounds 1 and 2

At the end of the episode MAX showed the final scores for rounds one and two with SF9 in sixth place; The Boyz, fifth; iKON, fourth; BTOB, third; ATEEZ, second; and Stray Kids, first.
