K-INDIE CHART – APRIL

We’re back with the latest K-Indie chart and this time we’re taking a look at the best-selling artists from April. Things were really shaken up as we have a pretty much entirely new top 10, which is kind of iconic.

Let’s take a closer look at these releases!

The rock band The Poles snagged the first spot with their 2022 album ‘The High Tide Club’. The last time they charted was in January with their album ‘anomalies in the oddity space’.

Bak Chang Geun is a singer-songwriter who debuted in 1999 and was relatively unknown, until at the end of 2024 he won the competition ‘Tomorrow’s National Singer’. His new album ‘Poems 25’ is a massive work with 28 songs and clocks in at an hour and a half.

The mini-album ‘Victory’ by punk band Rolling Quartz which was released in the summer of ’24 also snagged a spot in the top 10. If you would like to read our review about the EP, you can click here.

This is the first time UmYull is charting with the album ‘The Theory of Happiness’. The last time was with the album ‘Fantasy Tale’.

The 2021 mini-album by Kim Marie is still one of my personal favorites so I’m glad to see it in the top 10.

Lee Kang Seung is a fantastic artist so when I saw that he worked together with brilliant producer dress, I immediately put the album on my playlist. ‘Growing up feels like a lie’ is a fantastic mini-album with great vocals, great guitars and a really nice flow.

‘Angel Interview’ by Meaningful Stone is a 2024 release. She charted with the album in December when it first came out.

Shoegaze artist Parannoul is charting with his 2024 EP ‘Sky Hundred’. He’s one of those artists that just keeps dropping fantastic music. Check out one of our reviews for his earlier work here.

The band BABO is a new group. They released the album ‘B’ in december 2024. If I’m reading the Instagram comments correctly, AKMU member and soloist Lee Chanhyuk is the lead singer of this project.

That was it for this K-indie Chart, stick around!
