[Indie Pick] Kim Marie

Our new Indie Pick is all about the lovely Kim Marie. If you need beautiful self-composed tunes and even better vocals, stick around.

Kim Marie is a Korean singer-songwriter who debuted in 2018 with the single ‘Traces of you’ which she wrote, composed and arranged herself.

Later on in the same year she came back with the single ‘To Find You’. This is such an amazing song! I love the instrumentation.

The last single she released in 2018 was ‘The Day I Miss You’.

First EP

In 2019 Kim Marie released one EP; ‘Forest’. It has most of her previous singles on it.

The following year, she released the three singles ‘Everything to you’, ‘summer night breeze’ and ‘Universe’.

I definitely recommend checking out the full lyrics of her 2020 single ‘Universe’. Here’s a little snippet of them.

“When I reach out to the night sky

In the middle of the countless stars shining through your fingers

Shining in the universe of you and me

There are so many stories

Even on an unpromised night

Come to the place that the moon calls

Even among thousands of stars

We never cross”

A couple of weeks ago Kim Marie released her latest indie EP ‘淸, 靑’ which I featured in my May Indie DisKovery Report. It’s wonderful to see her growth in her musicality. I’ve been replaying this EP since it first came out. It’s a great listen and I’m sure that the audience will find her at one point. She really deserves the spotlight.

Go ahead and check out her Instagram here. You can find her on Spotify here.
