International Women’s Day Special: Empowering K-pop

Happy International Women’s Day! It’s a day where we can honour how far we’ve come in regards to women’s rights and how far is still to go. Let’s celebrate this very important day with K-pop that is empowering and makes us feel badass.

Cheetah – VILLAIN

Cheetah’s latest comeback was full of girl power! Women helping women and not being afraid. Cheetah’s had an incredible career and we just know she’s going to keep releasing bop after bop.

LOONA – So What!

This song straight up makes us feel powerful and confident. LOONA is quite incredible.

Jessi – GUCCI

Jessi is the QUEEN of bops that make us feel empowered. She is out there making women of all ages feel confident in their own skin and we love her for that!

GIANT PINK – Mirror Mirror

GIANT PINK’s music is filled with power.! Because she is killing it in every comeback and we love it.

Chung Ha – Dream of you

Generally, as soon as this song plays by Chung Ha, we are all ready to rock the dance floor and be the star of the party.

MAMAMOO – gogobebe

This list cannot be complete without the QUEENS of MAMAMOO, ‘gogobebe’ is a girl power anthem and remember ‘Shamelessly have fun’.

ITZY – DALLA DALLA

I stan aggressive self-acceptance. ITZY hits the perfect spot with ‘Not gonna change who I am for your comfort’.

BoA – Girls On Top

This track is all about chasing your career while still being true to yourself. Also BoA is an icon in the industry and this list wouldn’t be complete without her.

2NE1 – I am the best

This fits right in with ITZY’s song about aggressive self-acceptance. We should rock our confidence because if we don’t believe in ourselves, who will?

Miss A – I don’t need a man

Would any empowering feature without Miss A’s iconic ‘I don’t need a man’? Of course we had to add it. It’s like they sing in the song, ‘This is for all the independent ladies’.

We hope you have a great International Women’s Day with these empowering K-pop songs made by some incredible women in the Korean entertainment industry. Finally, tell us what your favorite song is that makes you feel like a badass!
