EP Review: TWICE – MORE & MORE

The Nation’s girl group TWICE is back with their new EP ‘MORE & MORE’. We’ve been really looking forward to this, so let’s dive in!

MORE & MORE

We start the EP off with the title track ‘MORE & MORE’ and dear God, it is a BOP. I really like the hook they used and it feels like THE summer track. I also really like the fact that the lyrics were written by JYP and BIBI who you might know from her newest single ‘KAZINO’.

Go check out the music video because WOW. It’s visual on top of visual and it feels luscious.

‘OXYGEN’ follows the title track with a very soft intro. While ‘MORE & MORE’ felt like summer sexy and summer romance. This track feels like frolicking on the beach and that first look shared between you and your crush. I am in LOVE with layering of the instrumentals. The vocals are superb as always but the girls really get to shine here. The bridge had me shook. It’s a 10/10 from me.

The third track is ‘FIREWORK’ and I did get a little bit of whiplash with the first ten seconds of the track. The guitar throughout the track is fantastic and I need a campfire sing-along. The Latin influences are really well incorporated in the track. The ‘so let me hear it’ was adorable and I can’t get over it, I had to pause the song for a second.

Next up

Next up is ‘MAKE ME GO’. It’s groovy as hell and the brass instruments are just the cherry on top. It’s *sexy*. I’m in awe! The way they play with the instrumentation in the chorus is brilliant and I’m adding this song to every playlist I own.

‘SHADOW’ is the shortest track on the EP and it’s kind of a shame. It’s an absolutely lovely track that is catchy and sounds great with the lower registers of the members’ vocals.

‘DON’T CALL ME AGAIN’ is the groovy angry ex song we all needed in our lives. The instrumentation feels aggressive and I’m HERE for it. The repetition of the ‘ooohs’ is beautiful. It’s also catchy as hell and I already know I’ll be humming ‘don’t call me again’ for the rest of the day.

With ‘SWEET SUMMER DAY’ TWICE closes of the EP with their signature sound. The song has great vocals, great instrumentation, a catchy hook and a catchy chorus. It kind of falls in line with ‘OXYGEN’’s vibe. So imagine if you play these two straight after the other at the beach or a garden party. Nice!

Overall

TWICE has never disappointed me and ‘MORE & MORE’ just adds to their hype and talent that I hugely admire. The girls are just incredible and with each release they’re just securing the title of the nation’s girl group more and more. They definitely deserve it.
