EP Review: MOMOLAND – Starry Night

MOMOLAND is back with a new EP ‘Starry Night’. Now, this is not an official comeback. ‘Starry Night’ is a gift to the fans so they won’t be performing on any music shows.

Starry Night

We start off the EP with ‘Starry Night’ that came with this video.

It’s not an official music video, so there was probably not much of a budget. However, this video is very cute and just focuses on the members. They all look so pretty! ‘Starry Night’ is a soft pop song with some funky instrumentation in the background.

Next up is ‘Pinky Love’. This is the Korean version of the original song that was on their Japanese album. It’s cheerful, fun and I totally dig it. The recurring chant of ‘Pinky Love’ is adorable and the bridge is absolutely fantastic!

‘Chiri Chiri’ was also on the Japanese album. Though for this EP they released it in Korean. It’s catchy as hell and a total summer bop. The rap part was exquisite and I just wish it was a little bit longer.

We also get an English version of ‘Starry Night’ and it is ADORABLE. MOMOLAND’s Nancy worked on this version for the translation and she did a really good job.

The last track is the instrumental version of ‘Starry Night’.

Overall

‘Starry Night’ by MOMOLAND feels very solid as an EP and honestly, it’s just adorable that they have this gift for their merries (that’s the fandom name, just FYI). The group has been through quite a rough patch, so go give them some love and stream y’all.
