Actor Spotlight: Jang Dong-yoon

We’re back with a new Actor Spotlight and this time we’re shining our light on Jang Dong-yoon.

Dong-yoon first became popular after receiving a commendation for heroism from the Police Agency after rescuing a worker at a convenience store from an armed robbery.

In 2016 he received his first acting role in ‘Women at a Game Company’. Then he got roles in ‘Solomon’s Perjury’ and ‘School 2017’ the year after.

In 2018 he landed roles in ‘A Poem a Day’, ‘Mr. Sunshine’ and ‘Just Dance’.

He was also in ‘The Tale of Nokdu’ where he was simply incredible and he acted alongside Krystal in ‘Search’.

2023 was a major break out year for him as he performed in ‘Oasis’ for which he got several awards, Daily Dose of Sunshine’, ‘My Man is Cupid’ and ‘Like Flowers in Sand’.

It’s his role in ‘Daily Dose of Sunshine’ that really caught our eyes, especially the incredible water scene.

He’s also performed in a couple of movies like ‘Devils’ (2023), ‘Project Wolf Hunting’ (2022) and ‘Beautiful Days’ (2018) which opened the Busan International Film Festival.

Overall Jang Dong-yoon is an underrated gem who has been in a lot of major productions and we’re glad he’s finally getting the recognition he deserves.
