In today’s Off Stage we will be talking about a company which has produced many excellent dramas since 2016. They have expanded over the last few years and now with its subsidiaries it’s able to have in-house producers, creative directors, writers and even actors. Today we will be talking about Studio Dragon.
Studio Dragon is a South Korean drama studio founded in 2016, in their webpage they mention as their objective to produce and “contribute to the enrichment of local content through consistent and authentic storytelling”.
Their lengthy list of productions have indeed honored this objective, for years they have brought incredible stories with mind-blowing productions to the small screen, that show the beauty of the story through carefully crafted scenery, storytelling and production.
With a creative force including 226 artists and 114 writers, Studio Dragon has big names in the entertainment industry, including Director Kim Won-seon (My Mister, Signal, Misaeng), director Ahn Pan-seok (Secret Affair, Something in the Rain, One Spring Night), writer Park Ji-eun (The Producers, Legend of the Blue Sea) and Kim Eun-wook (Goblin, Mr. Sunshine, The King Eternal Monarch), among many others under their different subsidiaries. Studio Dragon also houses the actors Jun Ji-hyun, Seo Ji-hye, under the subsidiary Culture Depot. Currently, Studio Dragon’s operating profit is KRW 10.1 bn, and sales of KRW 144.3 bn, for the third quarter of 2020.
