[Review] YUGYEOM – Point Of View: U

GOT7’s Yugyeom dropped his first solo EP ‘Point Of View: U‘ under his new agency AOMG. Last week he dropped the pre-release single ‘I Want U Around’ featuring DeVita. Today he is starting his journey as a soloist with this EP.

There are some very cool and interesting features on this release. Let’s dive right in and check the music.

Point Of View: U

The pre-release single ‘I Want U Around‘ featuring DeVita is first in this release. This song was a great choice to build up the expectations for this EP. It definitely gave listeners a glimpse of the music he is going for as a soloist.

Synth welcomes listener in ‘Running Through The Rain‘, and stays throughout the track to create a very chill and addictive beat. The harmonies in the pre-chorus are fantastic, and I really liked how this track takes a more modern electronic R&B style.

The title track ‘All Your Fault‘ featuring GRAY plays next, as we all expected when he signed with AOMG, we got a trendy and super refreshing R&B song that suits Yugyeom’s vibe to perfection. It also reminded me a bit of his era in JUS2.

The MV for the track is basically a mini-drama, with well done cinematography and some great acting. Check it below.

Featuring Loco, ‘All About U‘ is next and summer vibes are taking over in this track with a deep bass. Its EDM based beat and very neat instrumental inclusion are sweet. Loco’s feature as expected delivered, his rapping worked great for the flow and feel in the song.

Next up

Love The Way‘ featuring Jay Park and Punchnello follows with a mix of beats that make this track a super easy listen, this song is effortlessly good and the features just added an even cooler vibe.

Falling In Love‘ plays next with a very trendy sound, and soft and smooth vocals with an airy feel I really liked. This track is perfect to appreciate Yugyeom’s range, he goes off in this track and delivers!

We get to the end of this EP with the single ‘When U Fall‘, the instrumentation in this song is incredible and the transitions in the track flawless. The outro was absolutely stunning and closed this EP on a very high note.
