[Review] Weeekly – We are

PlayM Entertainment just debuted the new 7 member girl group Weeekly consisting of Soojin, Jiyoon, Monday, Soeun, Jaehee, Jihan, and Zoa. If you want to find out more about this group make sure to follow their Twitter and their Youtube channel.

For now, let’s dive into their debut mini album.

We Are

This debut release opens with the very bubbly track ‘Weeekly Day’ including very colourful beats and happy harmonies that in my opinion, represent the young, cool and innocent spirit of this girl group.

Saxophone melodies kick off ‘Universe’, this track has a quite unexpected composition that makes it kinda groovy with a touch of EDM and pop. It was unexpected but definitely super fun to listen to.

The title track ‘Tag Me (@Me)’ starts with happy up-beat pop melodies that get even brighter with the members’ vocals and rapping. The music video for this song is adorable, super colourful and I really liked the concept behind it. You can watch the MV below.

Hello’ is next, this track has definitely an odd beginning but it changes into this happy and carefree track with very interesting changes in tempo and beats that make it quite unique and fun to listen to. My highlight of this track was definitely the vocals, the members did an amazing job delivering and reaching those notes. The TALENT.

This debut mini album closes with the song ‘Reality’ a way more chill and low paced track that allows the listeners to appreciate the harmonies and vocals of each member. I really liked the arrangement of this track, it is super melodious and a blessing to the ears.
