[Review] VIVIZ – VarioUS

The girls from VIVIZ are back with their new mini-album ‘VarioUS’. We’re super stoked, so let’s dive right in.

VarioUS

We start off with ‘PULL UP’. We’re getting tons of brass, a cool bass and sassy lyrics. It’s a pretty dope title track and really sets the tone for what’s to come.

‘Blue Clue’ is next. I’m really enjoying this beat. The old timey swing vibe is fantastic. I like the tie in with the brass section to the previous track. The whistle is fun and elevates the catchiness. The vocals are amazing! I love the little vocal riffs and the smooth harmonisation in the bridge.

That’s followed up by ‘Love or Die’. We’re going catchy pop in this one. There’s also a touch of R&B to the vocals. This somehow feels very nostalgic. It reminds me of the early 2000s R&B. I like the twangy guitar in the instrumental.

‘Vanilla Sugar Killer’ takes us to a house party with retro synths and smooth R&B. Get your girlfriends out and vibe to this track.

‘Overdrive’ takes us on a citypop journey. What a fantastic combo with VIVIZ’ dreamy vocals. I really like how they slide their vocals in the chorus.

The closing track is ‘So Special’. We’re going funky with this one. There’s a bit of hidden drama with the sudden swell of strings. It’s super lovely! I dig it.

Overall, ‘VarioUS’ by VIVIZ is a fantastic release that shows a more mature sound and track after track blew me away. I’m very much enjoying this growth in their music.
