All of the TripleS members united for their yearly album ‘ASSEMBLE25’. The 24 members are sure to stun us with their talents, their vocals and their presence, so let’s go!
ASSEMBLE25
We start off with the intro track ‘@% (Alpha Percent)’. This is a super rad intro, with killer guitars, a sick tempo and a cool ambience.
Next up is the title track ‘Are You Alive’. Honestly this is a brilliant track. The theme of the track “the youth who live anxious lives between hope and despair” is such a cool one and they portrayed it beautifully in the music video. I loved their vocals and the progression, it has a couple of interesting tidbits and I loved the harmonies in the chorus.
The scenes with all the members together are frankly stunning and the scene where they’re all dancing in the wind hose and around the fire?! Top Tier!!
Next up is ‘Detective Soseol’. I love this so much! I loved the progression and the explosion into major. The bridge was lovely and toned down the instrumentals so we could cherish the vocal line. This is quintessential K-pop.
‘Firework Diary’ comes along with a funky vibe. It’s “a song that contains emotions that burn intensely like fireworks for a moment but are all the more beautiful because they disappear” I really enjoyed the ‘uumpahs’ and the fun little soundbites. Honestly this is a great track.
‘Love Child’ talks about the first feeling of unrequited love. Its’ dreamy, has fantastic synths and a fun chorus with the vocal freeze.
We’re starting off with a whistle with ‘Persona’. Member SoHyun directly worked on the producing, writing and composing of the track. “It asks questions of youth that are bound to wander and worry somewhere between sweetness and bitterness. It sings about the duality of the self that everyone hides but cannot talk about.” I’m totally digging the brass in the instrumentals!
‘Too Hot’ was the second runner up for the title track of ‘ASSEMBLE24‘ but unfortunately didn’t pick the top spot. However, since the fans really liked it, they included it in this one.
Next up is ‘Diablo’ which talks about the danger of obsessions. This one gained a lot of attention during the song votes. It’s a cool fast-paced synth pop track with a super fun instrumental.
‘Friend Zone’ brings us some warm R&B and it’s so lovely to hear their vocals like this. The bridge and outro are insane. Those high notes are super impressive.
We’re closing of with ‘Love2Love‘. Check out this line from the album description: “tripleS always goes beyond the limits of anxiety to see how much bigger a leap the girls can make when they hold each other’s hands and join forces.” I love it! This is a lovely pop track with fun harmonies and a cute rap verse.
