We’re back with a new film review and this time we watched ‘The Ghost Game’. Let’s dive in!
‘The Ghost Game’ is a creepy supernatural horror flick directed by Son Dong-Wan and co-written with Won Hee-Jin. The story follows Ja-Young (Yeri from Red Velvet) and her group of friends, who decide to make a fake ghost-hunting video for a YouTube contest with prize money on the line.
Their plan? Stage a spooky ritual to “communicate with the dead” inside an abandoned building’s storage tank. But things go from fun to terrifying fast when their fake séance turns out to be a little too real.
The 2025 movie has some fun body horror elements and some solid characters, though they do fall into the archetypes. Some of the plot twists, are a bit easy to guess, and you’ll probably see where things are headed before the characters do.
Still, the tension stays steady thanks to the eerie atmosphere and Lee Jae-Hwan’s cinematography, which makes every shadow and dark corner feel alive.
