[Review] TEMPEST – As I Am

The boys from TEMPEST are finally back with their latest mini-album ‘As I Am’. Let’s take a closer look!

As I Am

We start off with the title track ‘In the dark’. The song is meant to be of comfort for anyone who’s afraid but still trying to take the next step forward.

It’s a soft synth pop track with beautiful vocals.

‘Nocturnal’ brings us a city pop moment with a harder synth beat. It’s a vibe and a really lovely listen.

‘CHILL’ opens up with the sickest keyboard riff I’ve heard in a hot minute. Members Lew and Hyuk wrote this one and it’s a super uplifting, wholesome moment. It’s just so retro and warm, I love it.

After that comes ‘Silly Kid’ which “expresses the certainty of love, which is the only antidote to a confused mind.” It’s a hip-hop trap track with a lot of confidence and charisma.

The closing track is ‘How deep is your love?’ We’re getting plucky instrumentals in the tropical genre. I enjoyed the build-up towards the chorus! It’s a fun listen.
