MODYSSEY is back with their very first mini-album, ‘2.Multitude: How We Bloom‘! Having made their debut earlier this year, we’re curious to see how their sound and style will continue to develop. This time, they’re bringing an edgy mix of genres, unexpected transitions, and powerful vocals. Let’s dive right into the music!
2.Multitude: How We Bloom
Kicking off the release is ‘BONE SHAKER’, a pop-rock and EDM fusion that immediately sets the tone for the mini-album. The distorted instrumentals and punchy drums give the track a powerful edge, while the build-up keeps us hooked from start to finish. We particularly love the edgy vibe of this opener and how it sets the stage for what’s to come.
Next up is the title track, ‘Ridin’ (CAN YOU HEAR THAT)’, which keeps the intensity going while introducing a cool blend of EDM and laid-back hip-hop. The track has an interesting progression that keeps things fresh, but the real highlights are the electric guitar solo and the absolutely killer transition that follows. It’s an unexpected touch that makes the song stand out and a very cool choice for the title track!
‘RIGHT NOW’ follows, maintaining the release’s edgy sound while adding a playful twist through its beats and vocal delivery. Just like the previous tracks, the build-up is incredibly satisfying, with each drop bringing something new to the table. The vocals also shine here, reaching some of the release’s most exciting moments.
We’re nearing the end of the mini-album with ‘SILLY’, which leans further into EDM-pop territory. The vocal line delivers a fantastic performance, while the rap line complements it beautifully with a deeper register and plenty of charisma. The contrast between the vocals and rap adds another layer to the track, making it a great addition to the release.
Last but not least, the mini-album closes with the Chinese version of the title track, ‘Ridin’ (CAN YOU HEAR THAT)’, offering another take on one of the release’s standout songs.
MODYSSEY’s first comeback is a total box of surprises! From unexpected genre combinations and exciting instrumental choices to killer vocals and satisfying transitions, ‘2.Multitude: How We Bloom’ gives us plenty to enjoy. Make sure to check out the mini-album and let us know which track is your favourite!
