[Review] KATIE- Our Time is Blue

KATIE is finally back with her new EP ‘Our Time is Blue’. It’s been since April that we’ve had a comeback from KATIE so I’ve been stoked for this one.

Our Time is Blue

‘Classic’ is the opening track and immediately gives us that familiar feel of R&B and fabulous vocals. It is the shortest track on the EP with just over two minutes, so that’s kind of a shame.

After that we get ‘Our Time’. This track is reminiscing about a past partner knowing that things wouldn’t work even if you tried again. The hook is really catchy and sounds very fairytale-esque.

Next up is ‘Blue’ featuring Leven Kali, a Dutch singer-songwriter. He co-wrote the song as well. What a wonderful combination their voices make. Though I wish they had a bridge that stuck out a bit more.

We’re on track number four with ‘Faux’. For this one KATIE is listed as a co-writer and co-composer. The beat used in ‘Faux’ feels so badass, it’s so dope. I also really dig the outro.

‘Teach A Man’ is another beautiful R&B track. There’s a little bit of a groove in this one. I like the spacious feel in some of the sections.

The last track on the EP is ‘Lullaby’ which is another co-written, co-composed track by KATIE. The instrumentation feels groovy and is spruced up with some interesting synths. I dig this one a lot.

Go ahead and listen to ‘Our Time is Blue’ by KATIE on Spotify here. As of right now, there isn’t a music video yet, however, I’ll link her YouTube channel, just in case. If you want to read about her previous release, click here.
