[Review] HIGHLIGHT – AFTER SUNSET

HIGHLIGHT is back with their new mini-album ‘AFTER SUNSET’. Let’s dive right in to hear what they brought to all the fans.

AFTER SUNSET

We start off with the title track ‘Alone’. This is a super groovy track with a dash of retro and a killer bass. I really enjoyed the chorus and the vocals overall. The rap verse was sexy and the choreo for that part is pretty dope.

The music videos is just visuals on top of visuals. Check it out below.

Next up is ‘PAPER CUT’. We’re going R&B with this one. The heavy synths create a really cool effect and mixed with the dreamy vocals, this is a really lovely track.

‘S.I.L.Y (Say I love you)’ follows that. This pop ballad has a nice spacious synth. The vocals are absolutely lovely and the chorus is really catchy. The lyrics were co-written by member Lee Gi-Kwang.

‘PRIVACY’ is smooth as hell. We’re going groovy again, but there’s this touch of second gen that is giving me life. Honestly, this is a vibe and a half. I love it.

The closing track is ‘I don’t miss you’. This was co-written by Lee Gi-Kwang and Sooyoon of the rock band Royal Pirates. It was also partly composed by Royal Pirates member Moon Kim. This is such a cool track. The addition of the voicemail was a pretty cool touch.

Overall ‘AFTER SUNSET’ by HIGHLIGHT is a fun addition to their discography. Go ahead and listen to it here on Spotify.
