[Review] Fromis_9 – My Little Society

The girls from Fromis_9 are back with their new EP ‘My Little Society’. Let’s dive right in because it’s been awhile since we’ve had new music from them.

My Little Society

We open the EP with the title track ‘Feel Good (SECRET CODE)’. Honestly, this song is a BOPTM! It’s absolutely amazing and I love their vocals, the message, the vibe, the instrumentals. I’d be very surprised if this doesn’t end up in the charts.

‘Weather’ follows that with a slightly more toned down vibe. However, it’s still fun and the funky instrumentals are superb. The video game soundbits are an excellent addition!

We get a soft piano opening for ‘Starry Night’. It has me right in the feels from the very beginning and if that’s not talent, I don’t know what is. The vocals are so, so soft and I love the lower registers. I kind of feel like it ends on an unresolved note, as if there’s lingering feelings but no answer.

‘Somebody to love’ comes after and brings the grooviness back. We get some funky jazz piano. The harmonies are stunning and kind of took my breath away.

The last track is ‘Mulgogi’ and what a happy funky tune! ‘Mulgogi’ is amazing and a masterpiece, anyone who disagrees can fight me. The little play with the instrumental at the ending second had me replaying the entire song, just for the sake of it.

Overall, Fromis_9 has outdone themselves with ‘My Little Society’. Honestly every song is title track material and I’m shook.

Go ahead and listen to the EP on Spotify here. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be replaying this for the rest of the day.
