In this week’s review, we are talking about an office drama that slowly but surely won us over with its lovable characters, lighthearted comedy, and sweet romance. Let’s dive into ‘Filing for Love.’
Written by Yeo Eun-ho and directed by Lee So-hyun, ‘Filing for Love’ follows the story of the head of an audit department and one of the company’s star employees as they work together to uncover scandals and corruption hidden within a major corporation.
Corporate Secrets and First Impressions
Joo In-ah (Shin Hye-sun) has recently returned to the headquarters of Haemu Group, where she is appointed as the new head of the Audit Department. Known for her uncompromising work ethic and strict moral standards, In-ah values efficiency above all else and never lets emotions interfere with business.
One of her first decisions is to reassign Noh Ki-jun (Gong Myung), formerly the ace of Audit Team 1, to the less prestigious Public Morals Team 3.
Humiliated by the demotion, Ki-jun develops a grudge against his new boss. His chance for revenge seems to arrive when he receives an anonymous email suggesting that In-ah is having an affair with a co-worker.
Determined to expose her, he begins secretly following her, only to uncover a deeply personal secret, one that has nothing to do with workplace misconduct.
Working Together
After discovering In-ah’s secret, Ki-jun finds it difficult to act normally around her, creating an awkward atmosphere between them. In-ah, however, remains completely focused on her work and refuses to let her personal life affect her performance.
As fate would have it, the two are repeatedly assigned to work on the same investigations. Their professional partnership slowly helps them understand each other better, and the line between colleagues and something more begins to blur.
Meanwhile, tensions within Haemu Group continue to rise. Jeon Jae-yeol (Kim Jae-wook) discovers his brother’s ambitions to gain greater control over the company and begins securing the support of key shareholders.
To strengthen his own position, Jae-yeol brings In-ah along on an important business trip, hoping to recruit her to his side. However, In-ah refuses to compromise her principles.
Ki-jun unexpectedly crashes the trip, making his growing feelings for In-ah impossible to hide. Even the composed and calculating Jae-yeol begins to notice the budding romance between the two.
As office politics become increasingly complicated, In-ah and Ki-jun find themselves relying on each other, not only to survive the corporate schemes surrounding them but also to protect the people they care about within their team.
A Lighthearted Office Rom-Com
‘Filing for Love’ is an easy and enjoyable watch that mixes workplace drama with romance, comedy, and just the right amount of melodrama. The series keeps viewers engaged with unexpected twists while never losing its warm and wholesome atmosphere.
One of the drama’s biggest strengths is the relationship between In-ah and Ki-jun. Their slow-burn romance feels natural, and both characters experience meaningful growth throughout the story. Watching them gradually break down each other’s walls is one of the highlights of the series.
As expected, the cast delivers fantastic performances. Shin Hye-sun and Gong Myung share effortless chemistry, while the supporting cast adds plenty of humor and heart to the story.
If you’re looking for a feel-good office romance with memorable characters, corporate intrigue, and plenty of laughs, ‘Filing for Love’ is definitely worth adding to your watchlist. The drama is available on Viki, and you can watch the trailer below.
