[Review] EVERGLOW – Return of The Girl

EVERGLOW is back with their new mini-album ‘Return of The Girl’. We are super stoked for this release, so let’s check it out!

Return of The Girl

We start of with ‘Back Together’. It’s a slow ballad that has a lovely build-up starting from about halfway. I like that it picks up speed and intensity in the latter half. Their vocals are amazing in this. I really enjoyed the layering of the vocals in the bridge

Next up is the title track ‘Pirate’. This chorus is something else! It’s a major vibe and I can immediately see this be played in clubs. It’s a vibe. Also the girls are space pirates. The track feels very fresh, I haven’t heard this sound in a good long while. It feels quite 2nd gen inspired, a bit camp even.

‘Don’t Speak’ is next. This transition is giving me musical whiplash. The transition from heavy, dark EDM to the cheerful bubblegum pop is striking. It’s a super cute track though. It even becomes jazzy! There are some really funky synths in there as well. It’s a shot of serotonin. I dig it.

After that we get ‘Nighty Night’. I love the vibe of this one. It’s a well balanced EDM track. It’s intense, hits hard and I can’t wait to see the choreo for this. Honestly, this is a 10/10.

The closing track is ‘Company’. This walks hand in hand with ‘Nighty Night’ but goes even harder. I am in love. I want to see a double performance. The amount of girl power, sass that went into this track is insane. The bridge is super smooth and the high notes had me shook.

Overall, ‘Return of The Girl’ by EVERGLOW is a very solid mini-album. I am very pleased with this release.
