[Review] DAWN – DAWNDIDIDAWN

DAWN is back with his new EP ‘DAWNDIDIDAWN’ and I’m ready to be blown away because the teasers had me looking forward to this.

DAWNDIDIDAWN

We start off with the title track of the same name as the EP with Jessi as a feature. This song is INSANE and I love it. It is super catchy and I’m really digging the amount of sass and persona that just jumps out.

After that we get ‘Still’ featuring labelmate Crush. Honestly, PNation is filled with amazing artists. We get DAWN singing and it’s brilliant. Their voices blend so well and this slower R&B song deserves all the love.

The third track on this EP is ‘Tantara’ and can we just appreciate the trumpet intro. It immediately captures the attention. The instrumentation is so, so dope and honestly this song is a bop. The chorus is insane and I don’t know how but they make it work so well.

Next up is ‘Butterfly’. This synth pop track is such a smooth listen. I like the addition of the rather crass sample in the pre-chorus. The way it smoothly slides into the chorus is fantastic.

The last track is ‘Ordinary Night’. We open with a lovely acoustic guitar and a whistle. I was kind of surprised when the deep bass comes in, but it brings some really nice depth to the song.

Overall

The first EP ‘DAWNDIDIDAWN’ by DAWN under PNation is fabulous and hella dope. The songs have a diversity that I absolutely loved. DAWN is credited in all the lyrics and composing so we STAN.

You can find the EP on Spotify here.
