[Review] Baekho – Absolute Zero

Baekho released his first solo album ‘Absolute Zero‘. To start off his solo journey he participated in the composing and writing of most of the singles in this mini-album.

Since NU’EST officially disbanded we had been looking forward to see what the members will do next, and we are very excited to see what other projects they will be taking part in.

Let’s dive in and check what he has prepared for this release.

Absolute Zero

Festival in my car‘ kicks off this release with electric guitar instrumentation that had me vibing. With this very interesting intro and Baekho’s vocals delivering, the song slowly turns into a more slow EDM driven track. This song definitely sets the mood for this release and gets the listeners intrigued about what’s coming up next.

Beginning with synth-pop ‘LOVE BURN‘ follows up, this single plays along and slowly incorporates a more EDM driven sound. The lyrical delivery in this song is full of passion, and I just loved how passionate this single felt.

The title track ‘No Rules‘ takes over with a lot of groove and sexiness. The whistling in this single is amazing and the whispering is absolutely legendary. I really loved the concept Baekho went for for this title song, it is sensual but shows off his charisma and power as a vocalist. The only thing that makes this title track better is the music video and the INSANE visuals in it, the simple but sexy aesthetics are a candy for the eye, and the cinematic vibe going on in this production is perfection. Watch it below.

Featuring June One, ‘We don’t care no more‘ follows next. This song brings with it a more trendy and modern mix of synth and pop, with an awesome arrangement and a groove that makes it an awesome listen.

Next up

With a lovely R&B tempo ‘BAD 4 U‘ comes along with a lot of smoothness. The vocals for this single are amazing and dynamic, and the trendiness in it just makes it better.

Wanna go back‘ featuring Sik-K is last on this release. The mix of genres in this song is super cool and the contrast between Sik-K’s auto-tuned rap and Baekho’s singing is fantastic. The electric guitar gave this track a rock-ish feel that made it even better. The guitar solo at the end was absolutely legendary.

As expected Baekho delivered a balanced album with an amazing and very diverse sound. He did an amazing job in this release and it is definitely a solid solo debut. Make sure to check it out here.
