The artist we are talking about today has had a steady growth since his debut, and keeps surprising listeners with his music and unique style. Let’s talk about Wonstein.
Jung Ji-won (aka. Wonstein) debuted in 2018 under the agency Beautiful Noise. His debut single ‘Spider Web’ shows his singing vocals and rapping style, making it an interesting and well-done start for his career. Check it below.
He followed up his debut single with the EP ‘frankenstein’; this release is a complete non-skip. Every single track is solid and very unique. Below you can listen to a few of our favourite tracks.
The single album ‘Seoulcitypopfreestyle’ was his next project including his labelmate Homeboy. This release had a more city-pop/R&B style, with soulful vocals and a chill vibe.
His next single ‘GOAT’ featuring Verbal Jint was released in early 2020, and was followed by his second EP ‘ZOO’. This extended play had a very interesting concept and an incredible sound, an honorable mention goes to the tracks ‘Life is a ZOOoo..’, ‘Small Fish’ and ‘3 GUINEAS’, for their immaculate vibe.
He started off 2021 by releasing the single ‘Friends’ with lIl Boi, this one was followed up by the singles ‘Kangaroo’, ‘When Night is Falling’ and ‘Tree’.
Show Me The Money
Wonstein participated in several seasons of ‘Show Me The Money’, but made it to the semi-final in the 9th season of the show. Below you can check a few of our favourite performances.
Collabs
Wonstein has a very impressive list of collaborations and features. In 2019, he released, along with his labelmates the single ‘Noise’. You can check it below and get ready for killer rapping and a lot of style.
‘HEAT’ with lIlBOI and Mirani is one of his latest collaboration projects. This trio delivered a neat single with a lot of groove.
His feature for D.O.‘s single ‘I’m Gonna Love You’, was very unexpected but fantastic.
BIG Naughty’s single ‘Girl At The Coffee Shop’ with its groovy tempo and style is still a neat listen.
His feature with Rad Museum for the single ‘AirDrop’, was the collab many fans wanted and they delivered.
Wonstein keeps surprising us with his releases, collabs and unique style. Make sure to keep an eye on him, we are sure we will be hearing his name often.
