Rapper In The Spotlight: Swervy

In this week’s rapper in the spotlight we are diving into the career of a rapper with a unique sound and interesting style. This week is all about SWERVY.

Shin Yu-bin (aka. SWERVY) debuted with the team Yaya in 2017, with the single album ‘Yaya’ including the rapper Eco Yard.  Soon after this release this duo dropped the EP ‘Yaya Tape’.

In her debut year, she also released her first solo single ‘Hybrid’. From the beginning of her career Swervy has had her own music style. A lot of her rapping has a scratchy tone that flows perfectly with the beats and sound of her songs, however, she is also able to do fast and sharp rap delivery.

With her signature style, she came back in 2018 with her first EP ‘Bunny Bullet’.

Show Me The Money

Swervy joined the popular survival program ‘Show Me The Money’ for their seasons 777 and 8. She didn’t make it to the finals for either of them, but left cool moments behind. Check a few of them below.

After signing under the now disbanded label Hi-Lite Records, in 2019 she released one of her most well known singles ‘ART GANG MONEY’ featuring Reddy.

First album

In 2020 she came out with her first album ‘Undercover Angel’, including features by Paloalto and JUSTHIS.

She teamed up with Reddy for the single ‘Tag’ in 2021.

Her most recent releases are the single ‘January Embers’ with a more rock sound, and her single collaborative EP ‘GENE_SIS OST : C_OP’.
