In this week’s Rapper in the Spotlight we are sharing the career of a female rapper that is full of power and charisma. Let’s dive into the career of the very unique and super cool rapper Lil Cherry.
WEDAPLUGG RECORDS
Jung Sunwoo (aka. Lil Cherry) debuted in 2018 under WEDAPLUGG Records with the single ‘Motorola’. Before her official solo debut she was featured in the YunB’s track ‘Robabank’ released in 2017.
Her debut single showcased the alternative and unique style in her music, including enhanced vocals and very catchy electronic beats. Check out the single ‘Motorola’ featuring Jito Mo below.
Lil Cherry’s first album was released the same year of her debut. ‘SAUCE TALK’ is the title for this release, for this album she continued on solidifying her style and unique sound. This album has a full vibe of its own, check it here.
This album was followed by the EP ‘YUNHWAY vs Lil Cherry§’ ; this collaborative release was female power from every angle. Both Yunhway and Lil Cherry have very interesting musical styles, and together they rocked it.
In 2019, she released the collabs singles ‘ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT’ and ‘Get A Whiff Of Dis’ featuring Jito Mo.
Artra
Her next album ‘CHEFTALK’ was released in 2020 under her new agency Artra. This album was a collaborative project with GOLDBUUDA and included her well-known tracks ‘1000 Words’ and ‘MUKKBANG!’.
The music videos for this album include stunning visuals with a lot of oriental culture visual references in ‘1000 words’, and very interesting and dynamic shots in ‘MUKKBANG!’ Check them below.
Her latest release is the single ‘G!’ and as expected Lil Cherry goes off with her rapping and very interesting and creative visuals for the music video. Check it below.
