We are going back to 2018 in this week’s MV Rec featuring none other than SONG MINO’s music video for the single ‘FIANCÉ’.
When this single came out in 2018, many were shocked by the incredible mixing and incorporation of trot in this title track. MINO took elements of the well-known trot song ‘소양강 처녀’ from 1969, and added them into ‘FIANCÉ’, making this single a musical experience for fans.
Besides the fresh and great music, the music video for this production takes elements of traditional elements from Korean culture and shows them with stunning aesthetics and mesmerizing camera work.
In the music video MINO is shown as the king sitting on the throne. He is surrounded by what was known as the king’s concubines during Korea’s Joseon era. This MV mixes the old aesthetics and the modern days with perfect balance and it is a beautiful production to watch.
