MV Recommendation: Jane Jang – Carmin

You guys, we need to talk about Jane Jang. My girl is a vocal queen and yet no one is talking about her skills.

I’m upset. Also, possibly, a little bit obsessed with her music videos.

This week I’m recommending you the MV for Jane Jang’s – CARMIN.

First of, the song itself is beautiful and jazzy and there’s a little funky electric guitar solo. The lyrics talk about how great it is to feel and experience love. It comes at you without notice and it’s okay to be afraid, but it’s fun to love so why shouldn’t you.

In the MV Jane Jang is walking around the streets of Paris and can I just say ‘Mona Lisa who?’ The Louvre just called, they’re missing a masterpiece. Also the aesthetics are beautiful. It’s not a stretch to imagine yourself walking by her side, just skipping around town.

Paris is kind of the perfect choice, because it’s the city of love and what better place to sing about love?

I do wonder if there’s a slight connection with Bizet’s opera Carmen who famously sings about love, although her story doesn’t really end well so maybe I’m completely missing the point.

I definitely would love it if you gave this one a chance. I wouldn’t be surprised if you fell in love with her jazzy vocal timbre, because that’s what happened to me.
