Mini-Album Review: Paul Kim – Heart, Two

The Korean singer Paul Kim released ‘Heart, Two’ today and this long awaited comeback is the second part of his project ‘The Second Album’ of which the first part was released last October. You can check it out here

The Second Album ‘Heart, Two’

Hero’ begins this release, and as expected this ballad singer goes off with his incredible voice. I loved the piano and violins in this song and the electric guitar toward the end backing up the vocals was just legendary.

‘Hero’ is followed by ‘Overload’. This song starts off with solely vocals and acoustic instruments, the beat drops and changes the vibe of the track to a way more groovy almost soft-pop style that was unexpected but I totally loved. The addition of the Kakaotalk message alert was a cute touch.

Playing next is ‘But I’ll Miss You’ and this song screams romantic OST in every second of it. It is soft, beautiful and I can totally see it playing whilst the OTP of a drama have their first kiss under the first snow of the year, or when they break-up. Nothing in the middle it’s either one or the other. This track is also the title for this release. Check out the MV below.

Holiday’ comes next with a happier and playful beat. The trumpets, violins and the little birds singing made this song a bit over three minutes of wholesome happiness and it will definitely be in my happy beats playlist.

Closing this release we have ‘The Reason For My Spring’ and what a way to finish it. This ballad showcases Paul Kim’s talent and the stunning and soulful singer he is. I loved this album from start to finish and I can’t wait to hear more of him.
