We’re back with another k-cover, this time featuring BTS’s ‘FIRE’ performed by Insooni. I have been obsessed with this cover for a while, and it’s high time I shared. Seriously, prepare to be shook.
Now, unless you have been living under a rock (or maybe accidentally wandered onto this page while looking for recipes or something), BTS and ‘FIRE‘ need zero introductions.
Even though she may not be as well-known overseas, Insooni is a legend in the korean music scene. She’s been rocking since the late 70’s; and if this performance is any indication, she’s not about to slow down.
The combination of song and performer here is, put simply, epic. Some odd cases like myself notwithstanding, there isn’t a ton of overlap between ARMY and Insooni fans. The intensity of the unexpected is even higher given the song choice. Insooni is famous for her powerhouse and emotive vocals, not so much k-pop bops. Cannot overstate how cool and badass she looks in this clip.
This live performance was from the music show ‘Golden Tambourine’ in 2017. Sit back, and watch this 60 year old lady slay like a boss.
