[Indie Pick] Bosudong Cooler

We’re back with a new Indie Pick, this time we’re taking a closer look at Bosudong Cooler. The band was featured briefly on our ninth part of Korean Indie Rock Bands.

The rock band Bosudong Cooler debuted in 2018 with the single ‘Kill Me’.

The members Jung Juri and Goo Seul-han formed the band in 2016. Choi Woon-gyu was the third member to join and then eventually they found member Lee Sang-won.

After their single ‘Kill Me’, they released ‘Cotton’.

In 2019 Bosudong Cooler came out with their first EP ‘Yeah I don’t want it’ with the title track ‘0308’. The entire EP has such a nice, indie rock vibe that even now it remains an incredibly fun listen.

After the EP, they released the single ‘We Live in the Jurassic Park’.

In 2020 singer Jung Juri left the band and in her place came new member Kim Min-Ji.

Last week Bosudong Cooler dropped their first full-length album ‘Sand’. In the album description they wrote this: “I don’t try to ask why. Instead of wiping away the tears, I stay with them. If you cry enough, you will be able to take a step forward. Being together in that step, that is the promise of ‘Sand’.”

‘Sand’ is an interesting transition from the more quirky K-indie to a more alternative rock vibe. It’s a great listen with ‘Gureumi’ and ‘Sandmen’ as my personal favorites.

I’m very curious to see where they’re going to take their sound.

You can find them on Instagram here, and on Spotify here
