Guide to Korean Moisturisers: Dry Skin

We are back with another guide for Korean Moisturizers, and this time we will list our favourites and most popular ones for Dry Skin.

For this type of skin it is important to consider a few factors. First of all, dry skin sometimes lacks the natural moisture produced by our body oils or produces it in less quantity. Given this, it is important to find products that will trap that moisture in the skin and leave it hydrated for hours.

To be able to trap moisture or stimulate the skin to generate its own oils a few ingredients are vital at the moment of choosing a moisturizer. Glycerin is one of the most common ingredients in many moisturizers as it helps the skin to hold the water in and keep it hydrated.

Other ingredients such as Hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and honey also stimulate the production and retention of moisture in the skin. And if you suffer from extremely dry skin you can use natural oils like shea butter or plant based oils.

Let’s kick off this list.

Number 1: Etude House – Moistfull Collagen

Moistfull Collagen – Etude House

Collagen is a fabulous ingredient that prevents fine lines and stimulates the production of natural collagen in our skin. This moisturiser also has glycerin which will help the skin hydrate and it has a gel like texture that is easily absorbed by the skin leaving it plump and soft.

Number 2: Skinfood – Royal Honey Essential Queen’s Cream

SKINFOOD – Royal Honey

Having honey and water as a main ingredient, this moisturiser will hydrate your skin and also prevent it from breaking out. In the company’s description they write that this cream is also anti-aging and has antiseptic properties. It basically looks like the holy grail.

Number 3: COSRX – Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion with Birch Sap

If you have been reading my articles you might have noticed that I am a big fan of COSRX products. This vegan moisturiser has natural oils and glycerin that for sure will keep your skin hydrated.

I would recommend this one to anyone suffering from dry-combo skin prone to breakouts as the tea tree oil will help balance it out.

Number 4: LANEIGE – Cream Skin

LANEIGE came up with this new lotion that mixes cream and toner into one bottle (I would still use toner though).

Cream Skin contains White Tea Leaf Water and amino acid that strengthens the skin barrier and helps it from losing the moisture the skin needs to look glowy and healthy.

Number 5: Make p:rem – Hydrate Me

Make p:rem – Hydrate me

Hydrate Me is a cream that works well with extremely dry skin that is also prone to breakouts. It contains a lot of natural oils as well as other ingredients that will keep the moisture trapped in the skin. Its texture is quite heavy which makes it perfect for skin lacking hydration and moisture.

That’s it for this list, let us know if you have tried any of these products and how your experience was. If you have sensitive skin you can check out our previous article here.
