EP Review: Jane Jang – INNER SPACE

Jane Jang has released her new EP ‘INNER SPACE’. And I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t write about it, because I’m in love with her voice. She wrote all of the songs herself and even helped with the composing. Stan talent y’all. If you want to take a look at another article we’ve released about her, click here.

Let’s dive into the ethereal ‘INNER SPACE’.

We start the EP off with ‘Venus’.

She reminds me so much of Lorde in this MV, and I’m living for it. The beautiful tinkling piano and the mixing of the song really give it this spacey feeling that the title goes for.

Petal Fortune’ is up next. We have got to talk about that guitar. What a beautiful addition to the song. The layered voices and adlibs make it even better. Also that instrumental break! What a great, soft song. I can’t wait for the English translation to come out because I’m sure the lyrics are very poetic. I didn’t realize I needed Jane Jang to wish me a ‘merry Christmas’ until she said it.

The third track is ‘TEA’ . The first thing that I was thinking of was the ‘Spill the tea’ meme, though that’s not the case with ‘TEA’. What an interesting sound they’ve created here. All of the synths create a very broad sound scape.

Water Fall’ is the jazzy Jane Jang we know and love. It’s very much in line with her previous releases. Listen to the bass line, it’s great. I’m also loving the word play between ‘water fall’ and ‘I don’t wanna fall’.

‘Saturn’s Voice’ is the last track on ‘INNER SPACE’. It’s basically a three minute lo-fi hip hop track and I’m in love with it. Jane Jang’s vocals are muted and almost part of the background. What a soft way to close the EP. If anyone is making those playlists, put this one in there and share it with me please.

Overall, I’m a little bit in love with ‘INNER SPACE’ by Jane Jang. It totally fits my mood and I’m sure that once I read the translations I’ll be even more in awe.

Here’s her Spotify.
