HYNN, the amazing, beautiful, talented, vocal goddess that she is, released her new EP ‘When I tell you goodbye’. We spent some blissful time listening to it, and we’re ready to share our thoughts.
‘When I tell you goodbye’
The first track is ‘The flower from where you passed’. As you might have guessed this is a soft ballad with a beautiful acoustic accompaniment of piano, strings and guitar. This could totally be an OST in a K-drama. I love the way this song ebbs and flows.
The next song is the title track ‘When I tell you goodbye’ and is also the song the EP was named after. Please for the love of god, check out the music video.
It’s stunningly dramatic, which fits perfectly with this song. It’s a break-up ballad where the two lovers gradually changed and discovered they didn’t fit together anymore. The vocals in this track blew me off my feet. The belting gave me goosebumps and I still haven’t recovered. Honestly if you need a break-up anthem, this is IT.
The third track is ‘TO.DAY’ which is honestly a bit of a shock. Because this sounds happy and cheerful. It’s a song about looking forward to a new day with courage and cheerfulness. The little ‘hey’ makes me just super happy and the build-up to the chorus is really uplifting.
The last song on the EP is ‘Colors of my dream’ featuring 20 Years Of Age. It’s another happy song and this one even has harmonica in it! I am in love! The combination of their voices is absolutely lovely and is honestly exactly what I needed today.
The other songs on the EP are the instrumental versions of each track.
Overall
‘When I tell you goodbye’ is a great EP by HYNN. It has OST material, it has uplifting tracks so it’s very well balanced. Her vocals shine through and deliver on each and every second. I’m thoroughly impressed.
The EP is not on Spotify or YouTube Music, but I will update the review once it’s on there.
