MV Rec of the Week: DPR Live – Kiss Me + Neon

Live’s latest release left us all in awe. This album has a diverse and unique sound and lyrically has what feels like many personal stories. We cannot wait to see what comes next for this artist.

DPR has always been characterised for the high quality music videos of their artists. They transform MVs into pieces of visual art. The storytelling through the scenes can have so many interpretations and mixed with the music, it transforms the full thing into a visual experience that puts this independent label to that next level of greatness.

DPR Live’s second music video ‘KISS ME + NEON’ from his album ‘Is Anybody Out There?’ is a trip. Once more the story telling and the shots for this music video are charged with a unique story that leaves the viewer hooked from the first scene.

For the first part of the video we have ‘KISS ME’ and this part is charged with neon colors and small details throughout the MV that gives you hints of the story being conveyed, big props to whoever came up with the astronaut helmet with LED lights. It is stunning.

In the second half ‘NEON’ starts with an intro following the sequence of his music video ‘Legacy’, this part was shot in the desert and Live’s acting was incredible.

After this intro, the track starts and we have a load of stunning visuals and magnificent lighting effects.

Both videos were flawlessly mixed with the interlude charged with color saturation and aerial shots that characterize and originally got me into Dream Perfect Regime productions. You can check out the MV below.
