Drama Review: W-Two Worlds

We are back with another K-drama review, and this one is on my top 5 favorite dramas of all time. And this drama earned that spot with its amazing writing, storytelling and well thought out characters.

‘W – Two Worlds’, written by Song Jae-jung tells the story of Oh Yeon-Joo (Han Hyo-Joo) a doctor who is the daughter of one of the most famous webtoon writers and Kang Chul (Lee Jong-Suk) an Olympic medalist turned business mogul with a tragic family history.

One of the reasons that drew me to watch this drama was its peculiar plot and the fact that Lee Jong-Suk was featured in it. He knows how to choose his roles and he has never disappointed in any of the dramas I have watched with him.

Let’s get back to the story, the drama starts when Oh Yeon-Joo’s father goes missing and while she is trying to find clues about her father’s location, she is dragged into the parallel universe where the webtoon takes place which is also Kang Chul’s universe.

The drama is divided between both universes, but the webtoon takes more screen time than the other one. In the story Han Hyo-Joo’s character keeps moving between both realities and as the drama develops her relationship with Lee Jong-Suk’s characters gets more and more complicated.

‘W – Two Worlds’ is one of the dramas I have seen with the most plot twists and I loved it. You will get a bit of suspense, sometimes a thriller and other times just a light hearted cheesy drama. That’s exactly why it’s one of my favorites. It never gets boring and every single episode will make you want to binge watch the entire series.

The character development is also incredible. The writer did a great job building the storyline of each one of them. I fell in love with all the characters, their chemistry and their relationships with each other.

This drama story also features an unconventional villain that will give you the creeps. The fact that it isn’t the conventional k-drama antagonist and makes it even better.
